Hello everyone! It’s another day of the Afrobloggers challenge and today’s topic is “Comment on a trending current affairs topic.” so that’s what I’m doing.

I have always been interested in politics as it is generally an amusing concept. However, I was never really involved in Zambian politics because my opinion never really mattered. I couldn’t vote because of age issues lol. Now, I fully intend to vote in next years election because I know my vote will make a difference.
We need to keep ourselves updated with what’s going on in the country because whether you like it or not, regardless of where you are, it affects you. So my comment on Zambia’s current state of affairs and political game is, register to vote AND when the time comes to vote, do it. You might just be the “Plus 1” needed.
I hope my generation will be more interested in politics and we will be more involved. Asking questions even when they don’t want questions to be asked. Also, yesterday I witnessed the first “e-protest” that was held by Zambian youths and as different as that was, it was super impressive. Do whatever you can to be heard. I’m beginning to wonder how elections will be held should the pandemic still be a thing but we will cross that bridge when we get there. I’ll be back tomorrow!
Stay safe. Black lives matter. Stop sexual abuse.
Thanks for reading!

So true we need our generation more interested in the politics.
We can’t work at what we know nothing about. Glad you can now vote so please do✌️✌️✌️✌️

Some Zambian novel citizen, name escaped inspired not to vote again though he inspired me to be active, inventive and innovative

I am now curious to read the book and hopefully understand where that is coming from.
Oh yes! We must ALWAYS be active, inventive and innovative. Thanks for reading!

Exactly we need to learn to take active role in what goes on in our countries than waiting around for someone to come and save us, which is how end up in the position we find ourselves because the person when you don’t exercise your voice, someone else will do it for you.

Yes, yesterday’s e-protest was amazing. I’m still impressed with the maturity and manner it was carried out. Personally, I’ve never been interested in politics cause like you said , nothing I said ever mattered so I didn’t bother putting myself in that mix and I guess cause everything has been “ ok” till this year. This pandemic really made me put interest in things I never ever did, like I politics and I decided to be more interested in what’s going on in our beloved country … boy oh boy , was I shocked to what’s really been happening. Long story short I’m very eager to participate in the coming elections and I hope our generation is too . I hope they get interested in such before it’s too late to do anything about it… Great post 👍👍

Yeah the e-protest was quite something. I’ve also been taking time to constantly update myself with what’s going on back home.
I hope so too!
Thanks Anne and thank you for reading 💕
