To My First Valentine

I will always remember our firsts. The first time we texted you sent a “Hey” and I replied to it out of curiosity, wondering what you wanted to say. I also kept sending the earth icon accidentally and we laughed about it.

I remember the first time we met in person. You were a lot taller than I expected. A pleasure to be around. I also remember the first time you said, “I love you.” It was after I said, “Much love.” because I refused to say, “I love you” first. I also wasn’t yet accustomed to telling my friends that I loved them.

I remember the first time we said goodbye. Not knowing when we will see each other again but hoping it would be soon. It wasn’t but somehow we lasted long enough to say hello again.

The first time we “argued” in person was 13th January this year. (Yes. I’m taking note of all our little firsts.)

Today, for the first time ever, we are in the same city for Valentine’s Day and even though we aren’t spending the day together (which really isn’t a big deal because I’ll see you tomorrow), I’m just happy you’re my valentine.

You showed me true friendship and I can never erase that. It is unfortunate that every friend I try to make has to be at least half the friend you are. You showed me love like I had never known it before and made me know what simple things, like being seen and understood, felt like.

Thanks for being so supportive and for loving me the way you do. You are the embodiment of what is good and that’s how I know God gave me you.

Happy Valentine’s Day my love. I’m looking forward to experiencing many more firsts with you. I love you so much!

Yours,

Mu

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your days are always filled with love. How are you spending Valentines? Do you have a valentine? I’m working today so nothing special.

Leave a comment and let me know what you are up to today. ♥️
